Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the assessment of the most suitable workflow process for Heavy Vehicle, then administer the HV permits to ensure compliance and successful delivery;
* Assist in identifying possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the heavy vehicle traffic routes where necessary to achieve acceptance;
* Determine appropriate bridge and road maintenance procedures, work instructions and manage road and bridge maintenance tasks;
* Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects;
* Assist on the planning and heavy vehicle permit workflow process, to ensure smooth delivery of heavy vehicle permit outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved;
* Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to; and
* Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Student Engineer (Civil) PO1 – Asset Management should have:
* Currently enrolled in second or third year of a four‐year, Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence, which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
* Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
* Required to undergo employment screening (for example a criminal history check) as part of the selection process.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Familiarity with asset management principles and practices.
* A keen interest in working within the public sector and contributing to infrastructure projects.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
