About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Customer Operations team, you'll design, build, and maintain solutions for internal assessors, top-tier partners, and their customers across multiple platforms. The work is central to the business, solving real customer problems and placing you at the heart of the product.
There is significant AI investment in this space, from integrating AI into development practices to building agentic systems that tackle complex customer challenges. You'll shape how these initiatives are approached.
To thrive, you'll bring deep experience in web development and a passion for technical excellence. You'll lead technical design discussions, participate in product discovery, write high-quality code and documentation, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, raising the bar for engineering practice across the team.
We are building AI-first and collaboration is core. You'll partner with product managers, QA engineers, and other engineering teams to ship features, keep platforms stable, and continuously improve infrastructure and observability practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and build scalable, high-quality solutions across multiple platforms that support internal assessors, top-tier partners, and their customers, driving improvements in operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
* Lead technical design discussions and architecture decisions, setting standards for engineering excellence through rigorous code review, documentation, and best practices.
* Shape and deliver AI-first initiatives, from integrating AI into development workflows to architecting agentic systems that solve complex customer problems at scale.
* Own the full development lifecycle—from product discovery through implementation, IaC, and production-grade observability—ensuring platform stability and reliability.
* Drive cross-functional collaboration with product managers, QA engineers, and other engineering teams to ship impactful features on time and raise platform performance.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance infrastructure, tooling, and engineering practices aligned with the team's and company objectives.
Skills & Experience
What you will bring:
* 6+ years of experience in software development with a track record of building and operating production systems. Fluency with AI coding tools and real workflows.
* Experience designing, building and maintaining high-quality web services using PHP, Python, and ideally TypeScript.
* Experience designing APIs and building integrations with third-party services with unique requirements.
* Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and data modeling.
* Comfort with ambiguity and delivering in environments where requirements emerge through stakeholder engagement.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to participate in discovery work and document architectural decisions for both engineering and non-engineering audiences.

* Scale AI-powered operations by building at least one agentic system or AI-assisted tool into day-to-day Customer Operations workflows, reducing manual effort and improving resolution times.
* Own a major platform capability by driving 2-3 significant technical initiatives from architecture through production, with at least one becoming foundational.
* Lift platform maturity by improving infrastructure reliability and observability through expanded IaC coverage and systemic improvements across engineering teams.
