**About the role**
Due to an internal promotion, this opportunity has arisen. As the Risk Manager you'll lead the embedding and execution of sound risk management practice within the Babcock WAMA Program, the WAMA Alliance and relevant projects. Risk Management for Babcock can be defined at a minimum as; the capture, analysis, categorisation, monitoring, mitigation, reporting, and risk-based decision-making aspects of sound risk management policy, and process.
You will be recognised as an expert in the risk management specialty and may be called on by others to provide advice.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Supporting the development, embedding and maintenance of Australasian/Group Risk Management Frameworks and practices across Programs and Projects by providing an advisory and assurance role;
- Manage Risk activities of Programs and Project in complex situations;
- Ensure WAMA Program Risk Management is undertaken in accordance with contracted requirements;
- Develop, implement, and maintain Risk (Threat& Opportunity) Management Plans;
- Facilitate Risk Management practices (risk capture, analysis, mitigation, monitoring, and communication) across the WAMA Alliance members and within Babcock lead WAMA projects;
- Establish and maintain risk registers within nominated risk system; and
- Facilitate the identification of mitigation actions and administer the regular monitoring of these.
**About you**
**Essential**
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline e.g., Commerce, Project Management, Engineering;
- Extensive (5-8 years) recent and relevant experience in a similar role (Risk Management or Program / Project Management);
- Ability to influence and build strong networks; and collaborate with diverse teams and key stakeholders; and
- Awareness of various contracting methodologies.
**Desirable**:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification;
- AIPM Accreditation as a Certified Practicing Project Manager;
- Membership of a relevant project/ risk management professional body
- Relevant Defence experience;
- Experience within a multi-organisation alliance style structure; and
- Experience in complex stakeholder management.
**Essential Compliance Requirements**
- Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
