Core Engineering, AppBank Operations Specialist, Associate, Sydney Job DescriptionAppBank Operations is a 24x7, two-city model unified production management team supporting the business application of the firm using cutting-edge systems and processes that form the core of our key business. The team also adopts various tools developed by the AppBank Engineering team to automate failures using machine learning techniques, notify discrepancies in the health of production, and automate health restoration.JOB SUMMARY :Associate in AppBank, the Technology Division’s "Run-The-Bank" production management organization at Goldman Sachs. This is a specialist role in the production management function for technologies and systems supporting the firm’s various business functions.RESPONSIBILITIES :Work actively with team members to analyze and resolve application issues.Identify defects, discrepancies, and trends through code debugging or log analysis.Manage incidents and communicate effectively with users, application owners, and senior stakeholders across all areas.Improve application stability and performance by observing patterns, recurring failures, and advising application owners on permanent fixes.Utilize tools developed by the AppBank Engineering team to automate failures using machine learning techniques and notify discrepancies in production health.Identify processes that can be automated and collaborate with the engineering team to implement automation.Challenge existing application setups and propose solutions to improve stability and performance.Participate actively in change management to mitigate risks in the production environment.Build and enhance run books for generalists to reduce operational errors and improve efficiency.Develop reports to track application health and support service performance through trending statistics.Willingness to learn and troubleshoot proprietary technologies not available in the marketplace; prior knowledge of these technologies is not required.REQUIREMENTS :Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of software development experience.Strong understanding of Data Structures in practical applications.Experience in problem-solving within development or production environments, including pattern observation, root cause analysis, and resolution suggestions.Excellent communication skills to articulate technical and functional issues.Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C, C++, VB, .NET, ASP, or Angular.Experience with RDBMS environments such as Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, or DB2.NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS :Experience in the Financial Services industry.Experience with Cluster Computing and Big Data solutions like Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, or XRS in a cloud environment.Degree in Computer Science.Job InfoJob Identification: 142451Job Category: AssociatePosting Date: 03/10/2025, 06:33 AMLocation: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
