Job Summary
The Brigade Support Officer plays a vital role in providing seamless and responsive support to volunteers in Area Offices.
Main Responsibilities
* Respond to rural fires and emergency incidents, providing operational support, mentoring, and leadership on-site or in incident control centers.
* Maintain heavy plant registers and conduct station, equipment, and fleet audits to ensure operational preparedness.
* Assist Bushfire Mitigation Officers with local bushfire mitigation activities, including risk identification, advice provision, and community education.
* Collaborate with the Operational Capability Coordinator to assist brigades with planning, procurement, and maintenance of equipment items.
* Support fleet and station maintenance plans, managing unplanned maintenance activities.
* Attend Rural Fire Brigade meetings, providing updates, expert advice, and governance support.
* Coordinate and deliver training across the Area, District, and Region, ensuring volunteer training needs are identified and addressed.
* Provide administrative support to brigades and volunteers, including member applications and grant submissions.
