The Law School is seeking an experienced Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to make significant contributions to high‐quality teaching and to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities, with a particular interest in those with experience teaching Priestley 11 subjects including in the area of Ethics and Professional Responsibility in Practice.
Key Responsibilities for a Lecturer (Level B)
* Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across the spectrum of the University's undergraduate, and postgraduate program suite facilitating high quality, student‐centred learning activities consistent with Griffith Graduates of the Future strategy.
* Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
* Inform the quality, innovation, currency and evidence‐base of teaching and learning through scholarly activities, commitments and outputs.
* Provide educational contributions through responsibility for academic courses.
* Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of high‐quality outputs that demonstrate impact.
* Undertake research that has the potential to achieve impact on policy and practice in the wider community.
* Contribute to the enhancement of the School/Department standing and reputation by promoting educational and research activities with external communities.
Key Responsibilities for a Senior Lecturer (Level C)
* Develop and implement evidence‐based strategies that facilitate improved student retention, employability and successful outcomes for students.
* Provide educational leadership to a discipline including responsibility for academic courses and programs.
* Undertake high quality research that may have measurable impact on policy and practice in the wider community and attract and generate competitive research funding.
* Provide academic leadership ensuring consistently high‐quality experiences and outcomes are achieved for higher degree research (HDR) candidates.
* Promote and enhance higher degree research programs and adopt strategies to encourage a pipeline of strong HDR students.
* Provide research leadership to the Department/School through collaboration with other staff and/or undertaking leadership of a research team.
Salary
The full‐time equivalent base salary for an Academic Level B is in the range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
The full‐time equivalent base salary for an Academic Level C is in the range $143,418 - $165,374 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $167,799 - $193,487 per annum.
Qualifications
The successful candidate at Level B will hold a doctoral or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field.
The successful candidate at Level C will hold a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver high‐quality teaching and to engage students effectively.
* Proven ability to develop and implement innovative curriculum and teaching materials.
* Demonstrated experience in providing academic support and mentoring to students.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and engagement in scholarly activities relevant to teaching.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish quality research.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
Position Details
This is a continuing, full‐time position based at either Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi‐site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
