Position Overview

This opportunity involves collaborating with leading AI research labs to tackle complex scientific challenges in bioinformatics. The project focuses on building a benchmark to evaluate AI models' capabilities in designing and executing advanced bioinformatics workflows—starting from raw sequencing data and a natural language prompt.

Researchers will contribute by creating benchmark tasks based on real-world, published scientific datasets. The work demands a strong command of bioinformatics tools, deep biological expertise, and rigorous scientific reasoning.

Candidate selection includes a brief 15-minute interview, with decisions typically made within four days of assessment completion.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Currently pursuing or holding an advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Proficient in bioinformatics command-line tools
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Role Highlights

- Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to scale up to 40 hours
- Fully remote and asynchronous work environment
- Initial contract duration: 1–2 months, with extension opportunities

Contract Terms

- Classified as an independent hourly contractor
- Weekly payments processed via Stripe Connect

Compensation

Hourly: $60–$90 per hour
