Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Water Treatment Technician plays a key role in supporting site operations through the effective management of water treatment systems and laboratory processes.
This role is based at Bluewaters Power Station in Collie, located in Western Australia's South West, surrounded by picturesque jarrah forest, rolling hills and farmland, and just a 45-minute drive from the coastal town and beaches of Bunbury.
As the Water Treatment Technician, you will:
* Provide chemical and technical expertise across all site water systems including raw water, process water, boiler chemistry, wastewater, potable water, coal supply and ash disposal
* Conduct routine sampling, testing and analysis of site water and chemistry processes
* Support operational teams to maintain process chemistry within defined parameters
* Monitor chemical stock levels and initiate re-orders as required Review, update and improve laboratory procedures and asset management systems
* Provide input into reports, investigations and plant modification proposals
* Support planned and forced outage work scoping as required Identify and recommend continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and risk management systems
About you:
* Prior laboratory experience, ideally within a power station or heavy process industry (highly desirable)
* Technical knowledge of water treatment practices (highly desirable)
* Computer literacy in SAP and Microsoft suite of products
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures and data
* Confident working autonomously while also contributing effectively within a team
* Intermediate written and verbal communication skills
* Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
* Certificate in Laboratory Techniques (minimum requirement) or equivalent
* Current Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights
