About the Royal Children's Hospital
The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children's Campus and has provided paediatric and adolescent health services for more than 150 years. RCH offers a full range of clinical services, tertiary and quaternary care for complex patients, and supports research, education, and community engagement.
Role Context
The role is situated within the Department of Neurodevelopment and Disability (NDD), delivering clinical services to children and young people with disabilities and supporting multidisciplinary collaborations.
Role Purpose
This senior clinical leadership position links clinical practice, research, and service development. The role partners with the Apex Chair of Neurodevelopment and Disability, University of Melbourne, to align research priorities with clinical needs and translate evidence into practice, fostering innovation, education and improved patient care.
About the Role
Fixed‐term, part‐time (0.3/21 hours per fortnight) position for a period of 4.25 years, ending 21 April 2030.
Classification
* Medical – Specialist Year 1 to 9
* Nursing – Level 3 Research Nurse (QRED 3–YX13)
* Allied Health Professional – Grade 4, Years 1 to 5
* Psychologist – Grade 4, Years 1 to 5 (PM1–PM5)
What You Will Achieve
* Develop and implement a systematic approach to advocacy across the Melbourne Children's Campus for children with disability and their families.
* Collaborate on the creation and execution of a clinical research strategic plan that aligns clinical needs with the Apex Chair's strategic directions.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapy, meeting RCH credentialing standards.
* Eligibility for professional registration with AHPRA or membership of an appropriate professional body.
* Uphold relevant board codes of ethics and conduct.
* Relevant clinical experience for the role.
* Completed a research degree (Master's or equivalent) or currently pursuing a PhD.
* Demonstrated excellence in clinical care for children with disabilities and their families.
* Experience delivering family‐centred care.
* Expertise in research methodologies.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Leadership experience with mentoring and training capacities.
Desirable
* Experience translating research into clinical practice.
* Publication record in peer‐reviewed journals and relevant conferences.
* Experience designing and delivering research projects.
* Experience delivering education to peers and broader audiences.

Other Requirements
* National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
* Ongoing maintenance of a valid Working with Children Check.
* Valid Victorian driver's licence appropriate to the vehicle type and any licence restrictions.
* Compliance with RCH staff immunisation procedures.
