Jewellery Production Technician Role
This role involves the assembly and fabrication of fine jewellery chains, as well as precision finishing of fine jewellery charms across premium alloys.
The ideal candidate will have bench jewellery-making experience, competent arc soldering or torch control for small assemblies, skilled hand finishing and polishing capabilities, a clear understanding of jewellery quality and surface finish expectations, strong attention to detail and visual accuracy, and Australian work rights.
Key responsibilities include:
* Removing sprues from cast components with precision,
* Filing, sanding, de-burring, and pre-polishing jewellery charms to a high standard,
* Pollishing and surface finishing pieces using rouges, compounds, mechanical, and hand methods,
* Assembling, soldering, and finishing fine jewellery chains (gold, silver, platinum),
* Performing quality checks at all touchpoints against set tolerances and finish grades,
* Tracking and handling precious metal inventory with care and responsibility,
* Maintaining clean, safe bench organisation and workshop equipment.
The successful candidate will also receive hands-on training and exposure to advanced materials and skills such as:
* Finishing, polishing & functional handling of 18ct purple gold,
* Working with new and emerging technologies,
* Advanced surface finishing and tool selection for exotic metals,
* Bench-level problem solving for distortion, shrinkage, porosity and fire-stain.
