Accounts Receivable Officer (12-Month Fixed Term – Maternity Leave Cover)
We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Officer to join our growing team on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. This role is based at our Head Office in Devonport, Tasmania.

About the role:
As our Accounts Receivable Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance team through the efficient processing of client billing and receivables. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day transactions and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely accounts management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
* Perform financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data
* Prepare and issue resident billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and correctly posted
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing issues through client liaison
* Facilitate payment of invoices, send reminders, and manage debt collection
* Coordinate estate matters and arrange refunds where necessary
* Ensure resident movements are accurately recorded to support correct fee calculation
* Generate reports and financial statements on receivables status
* Reconcile expected funding to monthly Medicare Payment Statements and follow up on any variances
* Undertake other relevant duties as required, in line with your skills and capabilities
What you will bring:
* Demonstrated knowledge of accounts receivable processes
* Experience in the aged care or health sector (highly regarded)
* Familiarity with accounting functions and related software
* Proficiency in MS Outlook and Excel; experience with AIM and Inerva is advantageous
* Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
* Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
* 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting
* A commitment to accuracy and professional communication
* Ability to meet Aged Care Worker Screening requirements
