The Role
In this hands-on role, your primary focus will be the preparation and testing of cementitious and construction material samples in the physical laboratory. Testing procedures include compression tests, physical evaluations such as expansion, shrinkage, heat of hydration, particle sizing, fineness, and various other assessments. Other daily duties include:
* Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Execute testing procedures in line with relevant industry standards.
* Deliver accurate test results within required timeframes.
* Foster strong working relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant safety, health, and environmental requirements.

As part of the BGC group, you will also have opportunities to learn and work across multiple laboratories within MTC (Cement Chemical and Physical Laboratories, Concrete, Asphalt).
Requires
* Experience in construction materials testing and sampling (preferred).
* Understanding of Australian Standards and knowledge of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements (desirable but not essential).
* Competency with relevant technical systems and LIMS such as QESTLab (desirable but not essential).
* Cert III in laboratory skills or Cert IV in laboratory techniques (highly advantageous).
