Saltwater Busselton is currently under construction in Busselton's Cultural Precinct and is due to open soon. It is a multi-use facility including an A-class art gallery, a 640-seat theatre and a state of the art conference suite overlooking Geographe Bay. What you'll be doing
* Assist venue hirers with technical requirements and deliver high quality event support.
* Rig and operate lighting, audio, and AV systems.
* Set up staging, furniture, and equipment for events across the precinct.
* Support the installation of gallery exhibitions.
* Maintain strong communication with hirers, staff, and contractors.
* Complete event Risk Assessments and follow WHS procedures.
* Assist with equipment maintenance and compliance checks.
* Work collaboratively with Technical Services and Front of House teams.
What you'll bring to the role
The ideal candidate will align with the City's Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
* Minimum 2 years experience as a theatre/event technician.
* Proficiency in computer systems, network maintenance and a range of computing skills.
* Proficiency in either lighting, audio, staging or gallery operations.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A positive attitude and flexible approach to tasks.
Pre-employment requirements
* Proof of right to work in Australia
* Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card).
* Work Safely at Heights Certificate.
Hours and conditions
This role is casual and the working days and times are expected to vary between day and evening shifts, including weekends.
