About The Opportunity Join Bundaberg Regional Council's Infrastructure Design team and help shape the future of our region.
We're seeking qualified and motivated civil engineers to deliver innovative, practical, and community-focused infrastructure solutions.
Whether you're early in your design career or bring senior-level expertise, this is your chance to contribute to meaningful projects that improve everyday life across the Bundaberg Region.
About You You're a qualified civil engineer who's passionate about designing infrastructure that improves everyday life for the community.
Whether you're early in your career or bring senior-level expertise, you're ready to contribute to a team that values collaboration, innovation, and practical outcomes.
You'll thrive in these roles if you: Hold a degree in Civil Engineering, with eligibility for or current registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
You understand the importance of professional accountability and are committed to upholding engineering standards that protect public safety and deliver long-term value.
Bring experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally within local government or consulting environments.
You're familiar with the challenges of brownfield sites and can apply sound engineering judgement to develop fit-for-purpose solutions that balance compliance, constructability, and community needs.
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex design issues and make informed decisions.
You're comfortable navigating ambiguity and can justify departures from standard design criteria when needed, always with safety and practicality in mind.
Are proficient in industry-standard design tools, including 12D, AutoCAD, GIS platforms (ArcGIS, MapInfo), and stormwater modelling software (XP SWMM, TUFLOW, Rafts).
You're adaptable to new technologies and committed to continuous learning to improve design outcomes.
Thrive in a collaborative team environment, where communication, respect, and innovation are key.
You're proactive in sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and contributing to the development of design standards and procedures that support best practice across the organisation.
