About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, some of the role responsibilities include:
* Ensure the farm and animal management activities are consistently managed with a view to continuous improvement
* Management of electronic feed stations, data recording system, daily environmental controls and alarm systems
* Ensure animal and people welfare are always at the forefront of daily and weekly activities
* Facilitate planning of project work in accordance with business objectives
* Management of pig performance testing equipment in grower sites
* Exercise initiative and independence in implementing departmental, corporate and plant policies, developing effective work processes and solving operational problems
About You
Our ideal candidates will have the below experience/skills:
* Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience on a piggery (essential)
* Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability
* Demonstrated experience motivating and effectively leading teams whilst developing individuals' growth.
* Knowledge of production management principles
* Demonstrated ability to critically analyse strategic objectives to identify continuous improvement opportunities
* Be committed to upholding the highest levels of animal welfare and biosecurity
* Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
* Excellent attention to detail combined with organisational and time management skills
* Availability to work rostered weekends and public holidays
* Be physically fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the role
* Support a team of Section Managers to ensure essential targets are achieved including the supervision and development of its employees.
* Optimising production, efficiency and continual improvement of core KPI's.
