The Federal Court of Australia Entity is the administrative organisation that employs staff under the Public Service Act 1999 (Cth) to provide support to one or more of the following courts or tribunal: the Federal Court of Australia (FCA), the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Divisions 1 and 2) (FCFCOA), and the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT).
The Chief Executive Office and Principal Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia Entity is responsible for the delivery of corporate services to the FCA, FCFCOA and NNTT. Corporate Services includes: financial management, information technology, human resources management, property and facilities management, risk management, contract administration, communications and information management systems.
The CIO sits in the Corporate Strategy and Programs Division of Corporate Services, which leads finance, information technology, digital transformation, risk and compliance, and strategic program delivery across the organisation.

This is a Senior Executive Service (SES Band 1) role responsible for leading the IT, digital and cybersecurity function across the Courts and Tribunal.
The role provides strategic direction and leadership across IT policy, systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, supporting the Entity's objective to operate as a cost‐efficient and effective organisation.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Strategy and Programs, the Chief Information Officer leads a national function responsible for IT, digital and cybersecurity services.
The role is responsible for both strategic planning and operational delivery, including:
* Leading IT, digital and cybersecurity strategy, planning and operations
* Providing advice on IT policy, systems, processes and issues
* Managing service desk, software, hardware and network functions
* Overseeing cybersecurity practices and information management requirements
* Ensuring compliance with legislative, statutory and policy requirements
* Managing resources across multiple Court/Tribunal sites
* Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and vendors
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the IT, digital and cybersecurity function
* Undertake strategic and operational planning activities
* Provide technical advice and support to senior management and staff
* Plan, implement and evaluate programs and initiatives
* Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and standards
* Manage budgets, projects, procurement and contracts
* Develop and mentor staff and build team capability
* Maintain effective stakeholder relationships
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced senior technology leader with the ability to operate effectively in a complex organisational environment. You will demonstrate:
* Extensive experience leading IT, digital or cybersecurity functions at a senior level
* Experience leading teams through change and performance improvement
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability
* Experience in project and financial management
* Strategic planning and implementation experience
* Experience in IT policy development and review
* Strong communication skills and the ability to provide advice on complex issues
* Experience within the APS or a similarly complex, regulated environment is highly regarded.
* You must Australian citizenship
