About The Role
As the Governance Manager, you will strengthen Engineers Australia's governance capability by leading the design, implementation, and oversight of governance frameworks, policies, and processes. The role also provides assurance to the organisation and its stakeholders that governance risks are proactively managed and that the various governance obligations are consistently and effectively met.

Location
This role can be based in any of our offices across Australia, with a preference for east coast.
In This Role You Will
* Governance Framework & Compliance: Maintain and enhance EA's governance framework, policies, controls, and systems to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and good governance practice, including the Corporations Act and ACNC Act.
* Policy & Continuous Improvement: Develop, review, and update governance policies and standards, driving continuous improvement and embedding a culture of accountability and governance maturity across EA.
* Governance Advice & Capability Building: Provide expert governance advice to senior leaders and stakeholders, deliver Board paper training, and develop practical tools to uplift organisational governance capability.
* Registers, Delegations & Assurance: Maintain governance registers, monitor the Delegation of Authority framework, and ensure accuracy, alignment, and adherence across the organisation.
* Director & Board Support: Support director induction and development and provide overflow support to the Assistant Company Secretary as required, without assuming full secretariat responsibilities.
* Complaints & Procedural Fairness: Support procedural fairness through governance processes and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure governance related content in these processes is clear and fit‐for‐purpose.
Here's What We're Looking For
* Tertiary qualifications in law or business (or equivalent experience), with Governance Institute of Australia or equivalent qualifications highly desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance or risk management within complex organisations, ideally with exposure across multiple sectors and entity structures.
* Strong knowledge of the Corporations Act, ACNC Act, and contemporary governance practice.
* Pragmatic, detail‐driven approach, with a passion for strong governance and continuous improvement.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, insightful governance documentation.
* Trusted adviser with high integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to build and influence senior level stakeholder relationships constructively.
