Substation Secondary System Design Engineer
We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team in designing and delivering substation secondary system projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the growth of our organization.
About the Role:
This position involves providing technical solutions and support for substation secondary systems design, including protection philosophy documentation, AC/DC system sizing, and CT/VT calculations. The successful candidate will have expertise in HV protection systems, LV control systems, and secondary-primary design integration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop substation secondary systems, including protection and control, cable schedules, panel arrangements, and termination schedules.
* Prepare detailed scopes, estimates, and specifications for secondary systems in transmission and distribution projects.
* Conduct feasibility studies, concept development, and detailed design activities.
* Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the design team.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing responsive technical support throughout projects.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering recognized by Engineers Australia.
* Senior role: Minimum 7 years' experience in substation secondary systems design, ideally consulting or utility environment.
* Principal role: 10+ years' experience including leadership or principal engineering responsibilities.
* Expertise in HV protection systems, LV control systems, and secondary-primary design integration.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems, substation automation, and modern digital substation technologies.
