The Business An established, fast-growing professional services organisation is seeking a Finance Manager - Tax & Reporting to join its Melbourne-based finance team during an important phase of structural change and process uplift. The Opportunity Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of tax, compliance, and board-level reporting, while providing governance oversight across payroll and revenue-related processes. The role suits someone who is technically strong, practical, and comfortable operating in a business that is transitioning from "founder-led" to more disciplined, scalable operations. Key Responsibilities Ownership of board, investor and lender reporting, including commentary and variance analysis Management of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, in coordination with external advisors Maintenance of compliance registers and lodgement calendars Oversight of overseas statutory reporting and audit processes Governance of billing, invoicing and revenue recognition controls Payroll governance and leadership of a Payroll Lead Process improvement, documentation, and control uplift across reporting and compliance Support to forecasting, going concern inputs and finance-wide initiatives About You CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) Strong technical accounting and tax fundamentals Hands-on payroll experience (highly regarded) Advanced Excel skills with a logical, well-structured working style Comfortable researching and engaging external advisors proactively Pragmatic, curious, and solutions-focused - able to operate in a growing, evolving environment Experience in multi-entity or international businesses is advantageous What's on Offer Broad, end-to-end finance role with genuine ownership Exposure to PE governance and future transaction readiness Collaborative, down-to-earth culture with senior leadership accessible day-to-day Melbourne-based role with minimum 4 days in the office Onsite parking, gym access, daily food perks and regular team events If you're looking for a role where you can own outcomes, improve how things are done, and grow with the business, this opportunity will appeal.
