We're searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations in our diverse and dynamic operation. As the leader of our kitchen team you will have the opportunity to manage the daily operations of Pizzami Gourmet Pizza Bar and also deliver innovative and exciting culinary experiences across a variety of functions, from corporate conferences to large-scale event celebrations.
Centrally located in Peregian Beach, Pizzami delivers an innovative and inspired experience operating 7 days a week from 12pm-9pm. Pizzami is the dining venue for essence Boutique Hotel & Holiday Homes Peregian Beach., essence is a luxury accommodation provider offering a variety of conference, function and event spaces.
As the Head Chef, your guidance and expertise are instrumental in nurturing your kitchen team's talents. Mentoring your staff, overseeing food preparation, and thoughtfully curating enticing menus, all while maintaining a smoothly functioning kitchen operation to guarantee an enjoyable dining experience for every guest.
Primary Responsibilities
· Developing and updating menus, including selecting ingredients, creating recipes, and ensuring variety and quality
· Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and kitchen hygiene
· Delivering the highest standards in terms of taste, presentation, and portion size
· Managing the kitchen's budget, controlling food costs, and minimising waste to maximise profitability
· Hiring, training, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation
· Collaborating with the front-of-house staff, and suppliers to coordinate the overall dining experience
Skills & Experience
· Previous experience as a Head or Senior Sous Chef
· Experience catering for functions and events
· Proven menu development skills, crafting innovative dishes with seasonal ingredients and accommodating dietary needs
· Take great pride and passion in the food you produce with exceptional attention to detail
· Strong organisational abilities for preparation, planning, and cost control
· A natural team player that leads by example and loves the synergy of a great team
· Personal presentation & communication skills are imperative, along with positive energy & attitude
· Flexibly to work across a range of shifts to meet the operational needs
