An exciting opportunity exists to work for one of South West Queensland's most agile and community responsive organisations. Lifeline Darling Downs (LDDSWQL) has been serving the community of Toowoomba, and the wider South Western Queensland area for 50 years.
About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to assist youngpeople in overcoming personal and social barriers to achieving greater social and economic participation in their local community. To help identify and develop initiatives and strategies to reduce the barriers facing young people in terms of their safety, wellbeing and engagement in family and community living arrangements.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in human services, or related field and/or experience in Human Services highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people at risk, their families and sound knowledge of the issues impacting on them.
- High level communication skills both verbal and written, with an emphasis on effective interpersonal skills negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Working with Children card
- Current "C" class driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities
- To manage an ongoing case management caseload of young people that works within a case management framework utilizing strength-based principles and develop appropriate case plans and interventions.
- Maintaining up to date statistics and case notes.
- Develop and maintain referrals and advocacy with other appropriate services relevant to the young person.
- Develop and maintain networks and partnerships with organisations and other service providers in and around the Roma area in order to create and support clearer pathways and referral mechanisms.
- To attend and actively participate in regular line management and professional supervision.
