At Karratha Senior High School (SHS) we empower every student to embrace opportunities, build resilience, and contribute positively to society.
Karratha SHS is an independent public school for students from Years 7 to 12. We pride ourselves on delivering quality education to a diverse population of approximately 1270 students who live in Karratha and surrounding towns. With a focus on explicit teaching, teachers provide clear, consistent and purposeful lessons across all year levels to reduce variability and ensure every student experiences high quality instruction in every classroom. The Role
At Karratha SHS, teachers are expected to build positive relationships with students and work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance academic achievement.
The successful applicant should demonstrate strong professional knowledge, effective teaching practices, and relevant experience to deliver an engaging and meaningful secondary school Drama curriculum. Teaching practices must align with the Whole School Instructional Model, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all learning areas.
Our ideal applicant will be a teacher who is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment, offering meaningful learning opportunities that empower students to reach their full potential.
Strong interpersonal skills are highly regarded, as the role involves close collaboration with students, staff, and the wider school community. Experience running school productions is highly regarded. The successful applicant will be committed to providing students with community-based opportunities such as participation in Youth on Health Festival (YOH Fest), involvement in the Karratha SHS Arts Showcase, and other similar events.
