Boatyard Launceston overlooks the Kings Bridge and the Cataract Gorge and is establishing itself as a popular dining destination and function space. With consistent growth and a strong local following, we're now seeking an experienced Restaurant & Functions Manager to take ownership of front-of-house operations and lead the continued growth of our functions and events offering.
This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who knows hospitality inside out and is ready to run a polished operation with confidence, warmth, and commercial focus.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, you'll have day-to-day responsibility for front-of-house operations while playing a key role in developing and delivering functions and events.
You'll be trusted to:
* Lead, train, and retain a strong front-of-house team
* Set service standards and maintain a consistently high guest experience
* Oversee restaurant operations, rosters, and service delivery
* Manage and grow functions and events, from enquiry through to execution
* Build strong relationships with local clients, suppliers, and repeat guests
* Work collaboratively with kitchen and marketing teams to drive results
This role offers autonomy, supported by an established business and experienced ownership.
About You
You're a hospitality professional with proven experience managing a restaurant or similar venue, and you're confident leading people as well as service.
You'll bring:
* Solid restaurant management experience
* Strong food, beverage, wine, and cocktail knowledge
* Experience coordinating functions or events (or the appetite to grow this area)
* Confidence managing staff, service flow, and guest expectations
* A calm, professional leadership style with a genuine love of hospitality
