Job Title: Youth Support Specialist
This role is based in East Perth and requires a supportive professional to work with young people.
* Develop relationships with young people, adhering to boundaries of care practice, endeavouring to understand and interpret their behaviour.
* Support the induction of young people into the service, advising them of requirements, rights, and responsibilities.
* Assist with meal preparation and portion control.
* Monitor clients' personal care and hygiene, providing guidance to improve life skills.
* Collaborate with the team in the care and management of young people who exhibit challenging behaviour.
* Facilitate educational groups and recreational activities.
* Support young people to self-administer medications.
Requirements for Success:
* A degree in Social Welfare or Certificate IV in Community Services in the child, youth & family, and AOD sectors, with at least three years' experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated experience providing support and crisis intervention.
* Strong knowledge of behaviour management and capacity to set boundaries and limits in a residential setting.
* Available for 8-hour shifts covering a 7-day roster (combination of night and day shifts).
* The ability to work cooperatively as part of a team to provide positive outcomes.
* Demonstrated professional approach to maintaining professional boundaries.
* First Aid Certificate required.
* Must have Full driver license with no restrictions.
