An exciting opportunity exists for a creative and energetic individual to join our Engagement and Place team at the City of Kwinana. This is a full-time position working in close collaboration with the Community Engagement department as well as the Executive and Councillors.

What’s On Offer
Permanent, Full Time (152 Hours per month, 1.0 FTE). PACS Band 7 salary range ($91,667 – $100,522 per annum). Premium Recquatic Centre membership, 13% superannuation, and 19-day month terms.
- Full-time position working with the Engagement and Place team and collaborating with the Executive and Councillors.
- Opportunity to lead planning and delivery of the City’s Major Event program and support the Civic Events and Functions Officer for civic events, citizenship ceremonies and functions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver the City’s Major Event program and provide coaching to the Civic Events and Functions Officer.
- Manage a wide-ranging workload across multiple projects with ownership of development and planning for events.
- Undertake stakeholder management, budgeting, risk management and end-to-end delivery of high-quality events.

What You’ll Need
- Considerable experience in a similar events management role, preferably within local government.
- Knowledge of events management, grants management and risk management policies and practices.
- Strong self-organisation with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads under competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, communication and relationship-building skills with a high level of customer service; leadership experience with direct reports is advantageous.
- Physical capacity to setup and pack down events, install promotional signage and perform related tasks.
- Willingness to work after hours and weekends as required.
- Analytical thinking, creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- Tertiary qualification in events management, public relations, community development or related field, or extensive relevant experience.
- Computer literacy for report writing, grant and policy documentation, and record management.
- Driver’s licence, Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate.
