Vidico is searching for Melbourne-based freelance Video Editors to work alongside our post-production team - people who can shape raw footage into compelling narratives, and collaborate seamlessly with a talented crew of editors, designers, and animators.
At Vidico, we produce stunning creative content for global brands like TikTok, Square, Spotify, and Deloitte. Our videos and campaigns have set benchmarks in the industry, garnering over 1.3 billion views globally.
This is a freelance role, with genuine potential to transition into a permanent position here in Melbourne for the right person.
What will I work on?
As a Freelance Video Editor, you will:
* Craft edits from brief to delivery - bringing the story to life using every tool in your creative skillset.
* Interpret storyboards and manage revision rounds, ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards.
* Collaborate with the post-production team, including animators, designers, and producers, to keep projects on schedule and amendments turned around on time.
* Combine live-action and animation inside Adobe After Effects, exporting assets to meet client delivery requirements.
* Contribute ideas in post-production meetings, presenting creative thinking and solutions to the wider team.
* Own your timelines - proactively managing project schedules to ensure on-time delivery across multiple productions.
Skills, Education & Experience
* 3+ years of experience in a multimedia or video editing role, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong storytelling instincts and an eye for the cut.
* A genuine passion for narrative and film theory - understanding not just how to edit, but why each edit serves the story.
* Hands-on proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is essential, with strong working knowledge across the suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects.
* Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is advantageous, whether for colour grading, advanced editing, or both.
* Strong attention to details and consistent, polished outputs across every deliverable - no matter the brief size.
* Demonstrates a strong openness to feedback, viewing it as a valuable opportunity for growth and continuous learning.
* Proven time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines without dropping the ball.
* Comfortable working within a team, flagging issues early, and contributing constructively to the creative process.
* Figma familiarity is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
