Welding SupervisorFull-time | Maryborough QLD | Manufacturing, Fabrication & EngineeringDue to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee day-to-day welding operations, support fabrication teams, and uphold quality, safety and compliance standards.About the roleReporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for supervising welding activities, implementing and maintaining welding procedures, ensuring traceability and quality compliance, and supporting continuous improvement throughout our fabrication workshop.Key responsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain welding procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation.Prepare and control Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and welder qualification records.Oversee and coordinate welding and fabrication activities to meet safety, quality, time and cost targets.Maintain accurate traceability records, job packs and documentation in line with ISO ****.Conduct or coordinate inspection and NDT (visual, magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing).
Review welding quality, perform in-process and final inspections, and address non-conformances.Conduct internal welding audits and support external/client audits as required.Manage welder qualifications and continuity records.Provide technical support, direction and mentoring to welders and apprentices.Promote and enforce safe work practices, PPE compliance and correct welding controls.About youTo be successful in this role, you will require:Trade qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent.Certificate IV in Engineering or Fabrication (post-trade) or equivalent.AS **** Certificate 10 – Welding Supervisor and/or AS **** Welding Supervisor – Structural Steel (highly regarded).
Experience with NDT (visual, MT, PT); Level 2 qualifications or willingness to obtain.Strong understanding of welding standards (e.g. AS/NZS ****, AS ****, AS/NZS ISO ******).
