ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead the delivery of people and culture across a national, distributed workforce — balancing operational delivery with strategic influence.
As part of the senior leadership team and supported by a small team and consultants, you'll be a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, lead capability uplift and manage operational and technical people and culture responsibilities including employee experience, compliance, safeguarding and IR.
This is busy, broad and hands-on role. Key focus include:
* partner with managers to provide practical, timely advice on people matters, including employee relations, performance, and workforce challenges
* navigate a diverse workforce model, including remote teams, casual and part-time employees, and volunteer engagement
* ensure compliance across a complex, multi-state workforce, including SCHADS Award, WHS and child safeguarding requirements
* strengthen leadership capability across the organisation, enabling managers to make confident, informed people decisions
* lead and support a small people and culture (P&C) team, providing guidance, coaching and technical oversight
* oversee core P&C processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance development and development frameworks
* contribute to Board-level reporting, including WHS and safeguarding updates
* identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working across the organisation
* support workforce planning, budgeting inputs and organisational design conversations.
ABOUT YOU
You're an experienced, pragmatic and purpose-led people and culture specialist.
You have a tertiary qualification in human resources management or a related field.
You're comfortable in a busy, fast-paced working environment, managing a high volume of operational tasks.
You value autonomy, transparency and an open, supportive, inclusive and accountable culture.
You're equally comfortable interpreting and advising on the SCHADS Award as you are managing safeguarding and ensuring compliance (across states) while supporting leaders and managers across a truly diverse and dispersed workforce.
You're available to start in April ie within a couple of weeks of interview.
