Trader Bar is one of Darwin's most recognised late-night venues, known for premium cocktails, strong trade and a loyal following. As we move into our next phase, we are refining the experience — elevating service standards, strengthening culture, and positioning the venue as a sharper, more intentional hospitality destination.
We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Venue Manager to lead this evolution.
This is not a caretaker role. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who wants ownership, autonomy and influence.
The Opportunity
You will take full operational responsibility for the venue — driving performance, leading culture, and elevating standards across service, team and profitability.
You will be empowered to lead properly. Not micromanaged. Not restricted. Trusted.
Key Responsibilities
• End-to-end venue operations
• Leadership of floor, bar and supervisory teams
• Recruitment, training and performance management
• Stock control, wage management and cost control
• Driving revenue, margins and weekly KPIs
• Overseeing events and private bookings
• Maintaining premium service standards
• Building a strong internal culture and team accountability
About You
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Venue Manager or strong Assistant Venue Manager ready to step up
• Proven leadership in fast-paced, late-night hospitality environments
• Strong financial and operational understanding
• Confident managing teams, conflict and performance
• Commercially minded — you understand revenue, margins and results
• Professional presence and high personal standards
