About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.

CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).

Acute services include a full‑time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub‑acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.

We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care in supportive and homelike environments.

CGH provides a wide range of community‑based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in‑home services tailored to individual needs.

Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing cleaning services and Porter services to all areas of Central Gippsland Health including:

* All aspects of housekeeping, including cleaning and bed making for Sale Hospital
* Ensuring that the CGH campuses meet the Victorian Government's hospital cleaning standards
* Effective waste management of both clinical and general waste and carrying out waste audits
* Supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff

About the Role

The Team Leader works collaboratively in a team environment that requires the incumbent to interact effectively within the Environmental Services Department and more broadly with staff and patients from CGHS in the conduct of the Hospital Attendant function.

The position holder is required to maintain effective relationships within the Environmental Services Department and across CGHS services, departments and campuses and also external customers across multiple environments.

The position holder will:

* Oversee and assist the Director Corporate Services to create, compile and implement cleaning and maintenance schedules within scope of trade.
* Oversee and coordinate the operational day‑to‑day operations of the environmental services department in consultation with the Director Corporate Services.
* Ensure the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors to CGHS whilst achieving and maintaining high standards of quality care and service, reliability and safety, upholding and fulfilling the organisation's vision, mission and values.

Duties

* Oversee and coordinate operational duties for the Environmental Services Team in accordance with the cleaning and infection control standards.
* Coordinate the organisation's allocation and utilisation of medical gases.
* Support event set‑up and clean‑up.
* Co‑ordinate daily and other regular deliveries and collections.
* Ensure communication, reporting and documentation are timely and accurate.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Demonstrated strong experience in a team leadership and coordination role.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated experience leading a large team on multiple shifts, including rostering.

Relevant qualification(s) not limited to one or more of the following qualifications:

* Current Security Licence
* Medium rigid or heavy rigid driver's licence
