Key Responsibilities
This role reports directly to an experienced finance lead and you will need to draw on your experience to deliver the outcomes of this position. You will assume responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting. Ensure the preparation of the annual financial statements is compliant with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, consolidated balance sheet, cash flow and commentary. Oversee the lodgement of all statutory reporting and compliance matters. Manage taxation requirements, BAS, payroll tax and income tax returns. Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules. Coordinate and support quarterly and annual audits. Support internal payroll, accounts payable and receivable. Ensure the right controls and policies are in place and being followed.
Qualifications and Skills Required
* Suitably qualified accountant CA/CPA
* Technical accounting skills
* Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
* Previous experience with job costing/project accounting highly regarded
* Exceptional people and time management skills
* Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail
* Able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
* Capable of working autonomously and managing competing priorities
* Previous experience managing a high-performing finance team essential
* Ability to lead from the front and support the team where required
