Brighton Council is growing! As our community expands and major projects progress across the municipality, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Engineering Project Officer to join our Asset Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Tasmania's most dynamic and rapidly developing regions.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of capital works and asset management activities—making a meaningful impact on the future of one of Tasmania's fastest‐developing regions.

The Role: As a collaborative and solutions‐focused engineering professional, you will:

* Support the Director Asset Services in the forward planning and development of infrastructure including stormwater, roads, bridges, buildings, reserves, GIS and waste management systems.
* Manage end‐to‐end delivery of capital works projects, including scoping, procurement, contract administration and reporting.
* Prepare project documentation, reports, correspondence and grant submissions.
* Collect, manage and apply data to inform engineering design, asset management and long‐term planning.
* Collaborate with internal teams and liaise with external stakeholders, consultants, contractors, government agencies and the community.

About You

You bring tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, along with at least three (3) years of experience in a similar engineering role.

You bring tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with at least three (3) years' experience in a comparable role (local government experience highly regarded).

You have experience in designing and managing infrastructure projects such as stormwater, roads, bridges, buildings, reserves and/or waste management.

You're someone who communicates clearly, manages your time well with strong project management skills and are proficient with engineering and asset management tools—including CAD, GIS, survey/GPS equipment, civil engineering software, MS Project, spreadsheets and databases.

Position Details

* Hours: Full-Time: Monday to Friday; 8.15am to 4.45pm (30 minutes lunch), i.e. 19-day month. We can also provide flexibility by offering a 9-day fortnight with the successful candidate.
* Salary: Professional Level 2-3: $92,282 to $119,226 per annum – to be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be dependent on qualifications and experience. This position will also attract a 15.5% superannuation entitlement.

A current National Police check, health assessment and reference checks will be requested and organised by Council prior to commencement of employment
