We're Hiring: Full-Time Group Leader – Babies' Room (0–2 Years) Join Our Team | Role Available Now About the Centre Minya Bunhii Child Care Kindergarten is a community-focused early learning service providing high-quality education and care for children aged six weeks to six years.
We are committed to delivering inclusive, culturally respectful, and developmentally appropriate programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF) .
Due to operational requirements and ongoing workforce needs, we are seeking an experienced Group Leader – Babies' Room to lead and support our 0–2 years program.
Role Overview The Group Leader – Babies' Room is responsible for leading the daily operation of the nursery classroom, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and education for infants aged 0–2 years.
The role involves curriculum planning, educator guidance, compliance oversight, and direct care responsibilities in accordance with EYLF, NQF, and service policies.
Key Responsibilities Lead and implement developmentally appropriate learning programs for babies aged 0–2 years.
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment that supports infants' physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
Supervise daily routines including feeding, sleeping, hygiene, and transitions.
Guide and support educators working within the babies' room.
Build strong, respectful relationships with families and support partnerships with the local community.
Maintain accurate documentation of children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
Implement and uphold all centre policies, procedures, and child-safe practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the service.
Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations, EYLF, and NQF.
Essential Qualifications Requirements Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher) Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care Demonstrated experience working with infants aged 0–2 years in a long day care setting Sound knowledge of EYLF, NQF, and National Regulations Strong understanding of infant care routines, health, hygiene, and safety Ability to lead a room, support colleagues, and contribute to team development Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Desirable Experience Skills Experience in a Lead Educator or Group Leader role, particularly in a babies' room Background or training in health, wellbeing, or care support (highly regarded) Experience contributing to quality improvement processes Ability to work collaboratively in a regional and community-focused service Mandatory Checks Working With Children Check (SA) First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis Asthma Management Child Protection / Mandatory Reporting Training Food Safety Hygiene Why Join Minya Bunhii Supportive and inclusive workplace culture Opportunity to lead a key learning environment Stable, long-term position in a community-based centre Ongoing professional development and mentoring Meaningful work supporting children and families in regional South Australia Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
