On-Train Stewards And Guest Service Attendants

Join our onboard team in a variety of unique and varied roles. delivering commentary and exceptional service onboard our Heritage and Wilderness carriages. We are recruiting seasonal roles. Successful candidates will offer the following:
On Train Stewards - You will provide impeccable food and beverage service, interpretation, and engagement with passengers, provide excellent customer service throughout the journey within a tight schedule whist on a moving train. You may also be required to deliver an on-board commentary and interpretation.
Successful candidates will have:
* An ability to anticipate customer needs and deliver exceptional experiences
* Prior guiding and/or food and beverage experience
* The ability to tell a great story
* Competent cash handling skills
* Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate or capacity to acquire one
* Current and Clear Australian Federal Police Check (or able to obtain)
* Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations.
* Category 3 rail medical (or be able to obtain)
Guest Service Attendants - You will maintain our stations and carriages cleanliness to the highest standard, provide support to the on-train team during journeys and assist services at kiosks within our remote stations.
Successful candidates will have:
* The ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team or individually
* Cleaning experience in public areas (preferable)
* Reliability and a good work ethic
* Ability to follow work procedures and adhere to strict timeframes and deadlines
Successful candidates will also enjoy working as part of a team and have the ability to adapt to change and challenging environments. Subsidised staff accommodation may be available for the right candidate.
The Roles are located in Queenstown and Strahan, on a rotating roster. A drivers license is required and ability to work across a 7-day roster is preferred.
Staff are required to undergo a National Police Check. WCWR has zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and conducts random drug and alcohol tests. Personal development and training may be provided leading to potential career pathways within the organisation.
