For over 25 years, our service has offered inclusive, high-quality early education and care to children aged 0-5. With strong ties to the broader Defence community, we foster a nurturing, respectful, and supportive environment for children, families, and staff alike.
We are currently seeking a
passionate and experienced Centre Director
to lead our dedicated team in a permanent, full-time capacity. This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to inspire, mentor, and guide will shape the daily experiences of children, families, and educators.
Responsibilities
Lead with heart: Mentor, coach and inspire a team of educators to achieve excellence in teaching, learning and care.
Drive quality: Support the delivery of innovative, play-based educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and growth.
Be present: Actively contribute to the floor when needed, ensuring a strong connection with children and staff.
Communicate clearly: Maintain open, respectful, and collaborative communication with your team, families, and key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance: Oversee all regulatory requirements to maintain high standards of safety, care, and learning.
Build community: Foster meaningful relationships with families, HMAS Albatross, and the broader Defence and local community.
Champion quality: Lead confidently through the Assessment & Rating process, with a history of achieving 'Meeting' or 'Exceeding' ratings.
Qualifications
A Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent).
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership or Director role within early childhood education.
Current NSW Working with Children Check.
Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and relevant early education legislation and compliance frameworks.
A proactive, "hands-on" leadership style with a willingness to step into the daily operations when needed.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster and adapt to the evolving needs of the service.
