About the role
We are seeking an experienced Butcher to join our team at The Pantry - Cape Woolamai. This is a full-time position based in our butchery and delicatessen in Cape Woolamai, Victoria. As our Butcher, you will play a vital role in preparing and presenting high-quality meat products to our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Receiving, inspecting and storing meat deliveries
* Cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products according to customer orders and preferences
* Providing excellent customer service and offering recommendations on meat selection and preparation
* Ensuring the butchery operations adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked butchery and delicatessen
* Assisting with inventory management and stock control
What we're looking for
* Formal butchery qualifications or equivalent practical experience
* Excellent knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation methods and food safety practices
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide expert product knowledge and recommendations
* Good time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* A genuine passion for providing high-quality meat products and delivering exceptional customer service
