Responsibilities
Conduct pre-start inspections and complete associated paperwork daily. Assist Winder Engine Driver/Crane Operator as required.
Acknowledge shaft communications in a timely manner and follow any instructions given.
Discuss requirements for shift with the Shift Boss and or Lead Miner and get equipment ready on time in the correct sequence.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately. If equipment is deemed unserviceable then it must be tagged out given to maintenance for repair.
Ensure all waste is disposed of in an environmentally approved manner. Report any environmental incidents as soon as possible and assist as directed in all clean-up and containment activities.
Ensure all equipment required by shaft crew is inspected / tested and ready for lowering into the shaft.
Manage site materials and consumables requirements to ensure that stock is appropriate to ensure that we have no situations where a lack of materials delays the work.
Contribute to general maintenance and work activities outside of the specific duties of this role as required.
Change out kibbles and man cage as required.
Ensure bog out pit is emptied regularly, and water is managed. Waste chute must be cleaned at end of bogging cycle.
Clean and tidy crib room at end of every shift. Empty rubbish bins as required.
Brace housekeeping to be maintained.
Develop a basic understanding of shaft cycles and methodologies
Qualifications
- Telehandler or Franna ticket (one or the other is required)
- Working Safely at Heights
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Dogman's and Basic Rigging ticket
- White Card
- Willingness to complete a National Police Clearance and Pre-Employment Medical
