About the role

The Practice Manager oversees all administrative and reception functions at the Buderim Private Emergency Centre (BPEC), ensuring efficient daily operations that support patients, families, doctors and nurses. This role provides leadership, drives service excellence, and ensures the centre operates in line with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Customer Service & Reception Management
o Maintain a strong customer service culture
o Oversee day-to-day operations of reception staff
o Ensure accurate patient data and documentation
* Human Resource Management
o Recruit, induct and train reception/administration staff
o Lead, mentor and support the administrative team
o Manage rosters (including doctors' holiday roster)
o Ensure adequate staffing and provide cover when required
o Oversee payroll accuracy, personnel records, leave and pay data
o Review staff performance and identify training needs
* Financial Management & Reporting
o Oversee billing, MBS item usage and payment collection
o Manage debtors and identify payment issues or trends
o Prepare monthly activity reports and invoices
o Support budgeting for wages and administrative costs
o Oversee bills payable, batching issues and end‑of‑day balancing


About you

* Able to manage multiple demands and work under pressure
* Works effectively with minimal supervision
* Strong team leadership and the ability to organise and engage staff
* Strong time, task and people management skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to liaise effectively with doctors, staff, suppliers and patients
* Ability to reflect on systems and suggest improvements
* Leadership and team‑building experience
* Ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control
* Proven confidentiality regarding patient and commercial matters
