If you're a high-performing digital marketing gun looking to take the next step in your career, read on.
Here's your chance to be our digital mastermind, supporting WALGA in its efforts to advocate for all Local Governments across Western Australia. This isn't just another digital role - it's an opportunity to shape how people connect and engage across the sector.
Step into a space where digital solutions drive meaningful change for WA Local Governments and the communities they serve. As a digital marketing specialist, you'll work alongside our Marketing, Communications and Events team to elevate WALGA's online presence.
You'll be the creative force that ensures content isn't just good - it's optimised, engaging, and reaching the right people in the right way. You'll deploy and refine online tactics and campaigns that resonate from Albany to Wyndham, using data-driven insights to shape our strategy and maximise impact.
If you're someone who thrives on quick thinking, last-minute changes, and the ever-evolving nature of digital communications, you'll feel right at home. You'll be pivoting when priorities shift, jumping on urgent updates, and keeping everything aligned and impactful in a landscape that never stands still.
What a typical week looks like
(Spoiler, it's rarely typical)
Mondays might kick off with a creative team brainstorming session to fine tune our next standout campaign concept. From there, you could be diving into performance data to spot what's working (and what's not) or helping amplify our Advocacy priorities across digital platforms.
As the week rolls on, you'll be advising the team on best practice, smart digital strategies, whether it's fine-tuning content for our website, social channels, or eDMs, you'll help make sure everything we publish hits the mark.
There'll be moments of troubleshooting too such as tweaking the website, smoothing out those little hiccups in the CMS or CRM, and keeping things humming behind the scenes.
No two days are the same, and that's part of the fun. Each week brings fresh stories, new challenges, and plenty of room to experiment and innovate.
Who will you be working with?
As part of our highly engaged Advocacy team, this role sits within Marketing and offers plenty of team collaboration, as well as autonomy. You'll thrive in a collaborative and inclusive marketing environment and work closely with the Marketing, Comms and Events team, as well as our in-house Design Lead, to enhance and amplify existing content, bringing your ideas to life while ensuring it hits the mark with our online audiences.
You'll also liaise with other WALGA portfolios to provide expert advice on digital marketing briefs, collaborate on campaigns, and generally ensure initiatives are firing on all cylinders, in support of the WALGA's five-year strategic plan.
Joining a team of forward-thinkers who are as passionate about digital innovation as you are, here, your ideas won't just be heard - they'll help shape the way WALGA connects with Local Governments and the communities they serve.
