BreastScreenNT is part of the Australian national breast cancer screening program aimed at reducing illness and death from breast cancer by detecting the diseases early. The program offers a free mammogram every two years to women over 40.
As a Senior Radiographer you are responsible for undertaking and ensuring high-quality mammography screening and assessment services across the Northern Territory.
Working alongside a team of experienced radiographers, mammographers and radiologists, you will implement a standard of radiographic (mammography) practice, provide expert advice on imaging and ensure compliance with BSA NAS standards. In addition, you will provide professional supervision to other radiographers and on occasions be available to work at any BreastScreenNT service outlets, including the mobile screening unit, the Alice Springs practice, and rural and remote communities across the Territory.
To be successful you are required to hold a current Medical Radiation qualification, or equivalent, be registered with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and be eligible for membership of the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT). Extensive experience/knowledge of various fields of Radiography, sound working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and radiation safety is essential.Knowledge of principles and standards of the Breast Screen Australia program will be well received.
