Job Title: Solid Waste Operations Manager
This is a key role within our operations team, responsible for supervising and leading the management of Council's waste management facilities. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and a passion for delivering high-quality environmental services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and supervise landfill personnel and contractors engaged in daily operations, ensuring compliance with legislative guidelines.
* Assist with onsite maintenance and repair of landfill infrastructure.
* Maintain access roads, signage, and traffic control.
* Ensure efficient management of recycling areas, enabling safe public access.
* Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in site operations.
* Maintain high standards of customer service among staff.
* Conduct regular site inspections to evaluate conditions and implement changes as necessary.
* Attend operational meetings as required.
* Manage accurate records on materials, equipment, and personnel usage.
* Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and utility service providers for project execution.
* Supervise specific projects as directed by the Resource Recovery Supervisor.
* Assist with preparing project estimates and quotations as requested.
* Develop and implement annual work programs and plans.
* Support the Resource Recovery Supervisor in a relief capacity when needed.
* Perform other duties in support of the GWMC team as directed.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualifications relevant to the role, such as Civil Construction or Frontline Management.
* Class C Driver's Licence.
* General Construction Induction Training Card.
* Substantial experience in leading teams and managing operations independently.
* Solid time management, planning, administrative, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
