The Role
This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, expected to commence by the end of May 2026, with interviews taking place between now and mid-May. While the position sits within financial accounting, this role has a strong focus on data, reporting, and visualisation using Power BI and Power Query.
* Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
* Preparing journals, reconciliations, and financial reports
* Supporting statutory reporting and external audit requirements
* Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting tools
* Using Power Query to extract, transform and consolidate data from multiple sources
* Taking outputs from ERP systems and building meaningful, user-friendly financial reports
* Creating live, dynamic reporting that updates in real time
* Producing department-specific reports across the finance function
* Interpreting data and communicating insights clearly to stakeholders
* Ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity of financial reporting

About You (The Successful Candidate)
To be successful in this role, you will be a technically strong accountant with exceptional Power BI and Power Query capability.
Key requirements:
* Advanced Power BI and Power Query skills (essential)
* Strong background in financial accounting and reporting
* CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion) preferred
* Proven ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets
* Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
* Ability to build dashboards and translate data into meaningful insights
* Confident communicator, able to present findings to senior stakeholders
* Experience with ERP systems
* Available to start quickly and commit to a 9-month contract
* Comfortable working five days on-site in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne
