About the Company
A&K Tuckers is an established, privately owned civil infrastructure contractor now in its 26th year of operation. The company is known for delivering high-quality projects across Victoria and maintains a substantial fleet of civil plant, both wet and dry hire. Its size allows it to remain nimble, responsive and focused on delivering safe, timely and cost-effective outcomes for clients.
Due to continued growth, the business is seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of end-to-end civil project delivery.
About the Role
Reporting directly to senior management, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, delivering and closing out civil projects in line with client, safety, technical, financial and quality expectations.
The position requires a professional who combines technical ability with sound judgement, leadership and the right attitude. Cultural fit and reliability are core priorities for A&K Tuckers.
You will manage employees, subcontractors, engineers, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure each project is delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed scope and timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Lead end-to-end civil project management from startup to completion.
* Conduct contract reviews and project document reviews.
* Manage programs, procurement, QA/ITPs, survey/GPS coordination and defect management.
* Liaise directly with clients regarding progress, variations and approvals.
Financial Management
* Track costs and prepare project financial reports.
* Approve invoices and administer subcontractor payment certificates.
* Prepare and submit accurate progress claims.
Leadership & Management
* Participate in strategic planning and tender reviews.
* Contribute to management meetings and system improvements.
* Provide guidance to engineers, site teams and subcontractors.
Business Development
* Support client relationship management and lead follow-up.
* Assist in identifying and developing new project opportunities.
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience managing civil or infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of safety, environmental and quality obligations (WorkSafe, OH&S, ISO standards).
* Ability to interpret plans, specifications and tender documentation.
* Confident communicator able to manage challenging conversations and maintain strong client relations.
* Flexible, proactive and capable of managing multiple project sizes concurrently.
