About the role:
The Commercial Team Leader provides senior operational leadership for all commercial, retail, and visitor service operations at the location. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality services that align with Parks Victoria's strategic objectives, including sustainability, visitor satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
The Commercial Team Leader oversees a multi-disciplinary team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive culture. The role ensures staff are skilled, engaged, and resourced to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused services.
About Wilsons Promontory National Park
Wilsons Promontory National Park offers a comprehensive range of visitor services, including significant roofed accommodation options, Parks Victoria's largest campground with 475 sites, Victoria's southernmost light station, and an experienced Customer Services team. This team provides customer support, manages the park's Entrance Station, handles bookings, and supports the Parks Victoria Call Centre. The role also oversees multiple complex contracts and relationships, as well as leads a Customer Service team of approximately 25 members.
Operating in South Gippsland, and specifically at Wilsons Promontory, brings both opportunity and challenge. Success in this role requires an understanding of:
* Seasonal workforce pressures - attracting, onboarding, and retaining staff in peak tourism periods
* Remote service delivery - limited access to services, supply chain constraints, and on-site decision-making
* Housing and accommodation considerations - supporting workforce sustainability in a constrained regional market
