About The Role:
We're seeking a skilled Management Accountant to lead the delivery of management accounting, financial analysis and procurement, and data analysis functions that support Challenge's operational and strategic goals.
This role works closely with the CFO and other senior finance leaders to ensure the organisation's financial performance and long-term sustainability are managed with insight, accuracy, and professionalism.
Lead the organisation's budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting functions
Assist the CFO with long-term financial planning, modelling, and scenario analysis
Oversee procurement functions in line with the procurement framework and best practice
Provide clear, data-driven advice to support strategic decision-making
Develop and maintain systems and tools for financial reporting and performance analysis
Support audit processes, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
Continuously improve financial systems, policies, and procedures to boost efficiency and accuracy
About you:
We are seeking a strategic and analytical accounting professional with a strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring experience with financial systems and reporting, along with the ability to lead and mentor staff.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement. Alignment with our organisational values—integrity, compassion, collaboration, respect, and a people-first mindset—is essential.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance role
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements
Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and change management abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
CPA, CA or other relevant postgraduate qualifications
Understanding of the not-for-profit or community services sector, particularly disability and child protection services
