Full-Time - SCHADS Award, Level 3.1 or higher based on experience.

The Opportunity
As a Housing Officer, you'll take on a key role within the Housing Team, managing tenancies and properties throughout our social, affordable, and homelands housing services.
You'll lead with professionalism and cultural sensitivity, ensuring compliance with the NT Residential Tenancy Act and Yilli Policies fostering strong relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1) Serve as a main point of contact for tenants, providing support throughout their tenancy.
2) Assess housing applications in line with NT Government requirements, manage ongoing tenancy agreements, and oversee rental arrears and payment plans to ensure successful housing outcomes.
3) Coordinate property maintenance and conduct regular property inspections.
4) Educate tenants about tenancy responsibilities and environmental health practices.
5) Represent Yilli Housing at tribunal hearings when required.
6) Work within a small team.
7) Ensure compliance with National Housing Regulations within the managed portfolio, proactively monitor and asset the organisation to meet reporting deadlines
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Industry certification or at least one year of experience in tenancy or property management, preferably in social or community housing.
Knowledge of the NT Residential Tenancy Act and tribunal processes.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Cultural competence and a commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Proficiency in tenancy software and Microsoft Office.
A valid NT Driver's Licence, Police check and Ochre Card (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, tenants and stakeholders.
Someone who is proactive, solution-focused, ability to work in a face paced environment, willingness to strive for success in delivery of housing and tenant solutions.
The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training.
