Family Therapist Role Overview
The Family Therapist role presents a unique opportunity to deliver family therapy to parents/guardians referred to the Community Hub. This position involves identifying parent/guardian needs within the school community and providing suitable therapy, support, or referrals to services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver family therapy sessions to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
* Conduct assessments to determine individual family needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
* Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Aboriginal Health Worker, Community Welfare Worker, or Master of Counselling.
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, with awareness of current issues affecting Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
* Clinical experience working with families/children and young people is highly desirable.
