About The Opportunity
In contributing to the overarching vision, the Executive Support Officer – General Manager's Office supports the Executive Assistant to the General Manager by delivering executive and administrative assistance, efficiently coordinating relevant Council programs, and promoting the public image of the Council, all while working in a highly confidential and politically complex environment.
The Successful Applicant Will Require
* Appropriate executive secretarial qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated and proven experience in providing high level and high-quality executive level support and dealing with confidential and/or sensitive information.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse situations quickly and accurately, develop innovative solutions and recommendations to resolve problems.
* Strong communication skills including collaboration, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution.
* Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise effectively, exercise judgement and make sound decisions.
* Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to act independently and manage highly confidential matters.
* Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and knowledge of record management systems (Technology One).
* Ability to balance conflicting priorities and to work to deadlines.
* High level written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively at all levels, both internally and externally.
* Current Class C Driver's Licence.

About This Role
* Permanent, full-time position
* 70 hour fortnight/week
* Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO)
* Located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
* Grade 10 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,583.78 to $1,821.35 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation
* The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
What You'll Need To Have For This Role
* The right to live and work in Australia
* Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
* Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council's Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
* Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council's COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
