The role
Overview
Venue Infrastructure and Overlay Project Manager – responsible for ensuring Olympic and Paralympic Games requirements are delivered across both permanent and temporary infrastructure and overlay within the Brisbane 2032 venues program.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with GIICA and DSDIP to embed Games requirements into 17 new and upgraded competition venues and four Village projects, managing the integration of permanent works and temporary overlay, monitoring progress, critical paths, and change impacts in accordance with the Venue Integration Schedule.
- Lead the design, planning and delivery of temporary infrastructure and overlay across all competition and key non‐competition venues, ensuring seamless integration of critical utilities and services (power, water, technology, broadcast, security) across both temporary and permanent builds.
- Represent Brisbane 2032 in delivery partner working groups and planning meetings to ensure venues are fit‐for‐purpose for Games delivery.
- Collaborate with internal Venue Management, Village Management and other Functional Areas (Sport, Technology, Security, Transport, Broadcast, Logistics) to determine FA space and service requirements and ensure integrated, optimised delivery across venues.
- Support the development and execution of sourcing and delivery models across assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with Australian code and legislation on all assigned projects – supporting a culture of safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Support reporting requirements, including progress updates, risk reporting and executive briefings.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading the end‐to‐end delivery of large‐scale, complex temporary overlay, flawlessly managing scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality across multiple concurrent sites from design through to construction under fixed deadlines.
- A strong understanding of planning and design for multi‐purpose sporting venues is highly desirable, coupled with a solid grasp of temporary event overlay delivery.
- Tertiary qualification and experience in project management, engineering, construction, architecture or a related discipline.
- Experience working in large‐scale, program‐managed environments with multiple delivery partners (including Government) and governance layers, including the management of consultants, contractors and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Deep familiarity with local and international building regulations, accessibility standards and best practices for temporary overlay.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
