Sydney Ebike Rental Pty Ltd is an innovative and growing urban mobility provider offering high-quality electric bicycles to customers across Sydney. We are currently seeking a full-time Engineering Technologist to lead technical improvements, support product development, and streamline operations across our store network. About the Role: The Engineering Technologist will play a central role in assessing bike models, improving workshop operations, managing stock systems, and ensuring all staff are equipped with the latest procedures and technical updates. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional with strong technical insight and a passion for sustainable transport. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and approve or reject new bike models based on geometry, specifications, build quality, supplier support, and overall suitability. Identify and resolve flaws in existing bicycle designs and communicate detailed feedback to manufacturers. Trial new mechanical and operational procedures and implement improvements across all store locations. Provide ongoing technical training and updates to mechanical staff regarding new systems, tools, or practices. Order necessary tools, components, and parts for all workshops and ensure efficient stock distribution. Manage stock entries and inventory levels across all workshop locations. Liaise with sales representatives to review potential new product additions and technical compatibility. Develop and oversee a detailed plan for converting standard bikes into electric bikes. Maintain and update product listings on the company website, ensuring all information is current and accurate. Assist Portuguese-speaking customers (especially Brazilian clients), providing support in both English and Portuguese to explain product features, pricing, and store processes. About You: A degree in Engineering, Applied Technology, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a technical, mechanical, or product development role. Strong mechanical knowledge of bicycles and electric bike systems. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Experience with inventory and stock management systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to train and support staff. Portuguese language skills highly regarded (especially to support Brazilian customers).
